This is education, not advice
The information here is written for the general reader and does not replace a personal medical consultation. It cannot tell you whether a lift, an augmentation or neither is appropriate for your anatomy, your health or your circumstances.
No outcome is guaranteed
No treatment can be guaranteed. How much either operation improves, how long the result holds, and how the scars settle vary between individuals, and the result is judged honestly only after six to twelve months.
Scars are permanent
Both operations leave scars, and neither scar pattern disappears. They mature and soften over twelve to eighteen months, and no surgeon can promise that they will be invisible or that they will sit exactly where you would choose.
Revision carries added risk
A second operation on a breast that has already been operated on — a repeat lift, an exchange, a removal or a correction — is a harder operation on altered tissue. Revision does not remove the risks of the first operation; it adds to them, which is why this site discusses it before the first operation rather than after. An implant is not a lifetime device and may need removal or replacement.
